JACK WEALLEANS

        Jack           Wealleans

Jack first walked into the gym at around the age of 10 simply for a bit of fun, but the sport quickly became serious. By the age of 12, he stepped into the ring for his first bout, marking the beginning of his competitive journey.

       16 years | 48kg

Jack's first boxing season tested his character, losing his first four fights. Refusing to give up, he returned the following season with renewed determination and went on to win five bouts in a row, an achievement he credits to the unwavering support of his coaches and teammates at Newbiggin Boxing Club.

Training six days a week, Jack balances intense boxing sessions with running and strength and conditioning work. That turnaround from early losses to successive winds taught him the true meaning of discipline and dedication, lessons he draws on during the toughest training days.

The biggest lesson boxing has taught Jack is "you only get out what you put in." Boxing plays a crucial role in his life, and he remains driven by the support of his family, coaches and teammates.

Now 20 fights deep into his amateur career, Jack's short-term goal is to go all the way in the upcoming National Youth Championships after a disappointing run the pervious year. Looking ahead over the next three to five years, he sees himself winning titles and fulfilling his dream of entering the professional ranks.

His guiding advice reflects his mindset "The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses, behind the lines, in the gym and on the road."
